#TeamREV Spotlight: FTC #14391 Under Ctrl

#TeamREV is a community that transcends international borders. Say hello to FTC Team #14391: Under Ctrl, who call Brazil their home!

Tell us a little bit about your team’s background.

  • Under Ctrl 14391 is one of the oldest FTC teams in Brazil. Our team was founded in 2019 and our first season was 2019-20 SKYSTONE.
  • Our team is currently made up of mainly rookies. This season, we have a lot of members experiencing their first  robotics competition!
  • A big sponsor of ours is John Deere, which we have supported since the 2022-23 POWERPLAY season. 
  • Every season we name our robot as a character from the Looney Tunes cartoon, and we select the name based on the characteristic of the character and what we want our robot to have. For example, Speedy González was the name of our robot in the SKYSTONE season.

What are some recent achievements your team is proud of?

  • We donated more than 145kg of caps for a NGO (non-governmental organization) with the goal of promoting the treatment of children with cancer.
  • We worked as judges and volunteers in 3 robotics competitions.
  • We organized a friendly match for the 3 FIRST programs (FRC, FTC and FLL), called Sinos Valley Challenge.  
  • We have 10 active sponsors this season. 
  • We are excited for all the new members who have joined our team this season.

What has your team been working on recently?

Our January was focused on finishing our robot for the Sinos Valley Challenge, our scrimmage event. At the end of the month, we had a completely finished robot and started training our drivers. We have been working really hard to make sure that the event was the best. The team did a lot of work building the court, finding volunteers, talking to the 11 teams who participated, and finishing all the other details.

What is your team enjoying within the #TeamREV Sponsorship Program?

We are so amazed with the organization REV has put into this program. The support and connection we share with REV is a goal we would like to achieve with every sponsor. Our team enjoys the close relationships we have created through the #TeamREV program and the positive disposition REV Robotics has with their teams.
