A Note About Price Changes at REV
By Greg Needel, CEO of REV Robotics
I wanted to take a moment to talk openly about something that is never fun: price increases.
As of the end of the day yesterday, we made some adjustments to prices on our U.S. website. On average, prices have gone up about 8%, with individual products ranging between 5% and 12%, depending on how tariffs and supplier costs affect them.
Why This Is Happening
Like many companies right now, we are being hit hard by recent tariff changes on goods imported into the United States. These tariffs do not just apply to the products we bring in directly. They also affect our suppliers, who are facing their own increased costs. Unfortunately, that makes it more expensive for us to produce and deliver the same products we have been making for years.
We have not raised prices in several years, even as our costs have continued to rise. This time, we simply could not avoid it. That said, we have done everything we can to limit the increase. The truth is, we are not even fully covering the higher costs. Our margins are down because we are absorbing part of the increase ourselves rather than passing everything on to teams.
What We Are Doing About It
We are actively looking at other manufacturing options in different regions to help reduce our exposure to tariffs and stabilize costs in the future. We have already moved some items, but these shifts in supply chains take time. We are keeping a close eye on global trade and supply chain conditions. For a small company like ours, these kinds of changes have a big impact, but we are doing everything we can to adapt without compromising on quality or availability.
We also knew that some price adjustments were likely coming this year, so as we were developing products for this season, we made a conscious effort to design with cost in mind. For example, EasySwerve and several other upcoming releases were built from the start to be cost sensitive in both materials and manufacturing. Our goal was to give teams access to new options for historically high price items that help offset some of the rising costs on existing products.
Where This Applies
- U.S. Website (revrobotics.com): Prices have increased 5-12%, averaging around 8%.
- Canada, Europe, and Asia Warehouses: Prices remain unchanged, as goods fulfilled from these warehouses are not affected by U.S. tariffs.
- Existing Quotes and POs: Any quotes or purchase orders issued before the price change will still be honored at the previous price under the original terms.
Our Commitment to You
I know no one likes seeing prices go up. I do not either. We are part of this community, and we take our responsibility to teams and educators seriously. Our goal has always been to keep FIRST and STEM as accessible as possible, and that has not changed.
We will continue monitoring costs and doing everything we can to keep pricing fair while maintaining the quality and reliability you expect from us.
Thank you for understanding and for continuing to support what we do.
