Celebrating Innovation and Community at FIRST Championship 2025
REV Robotics Reflects on an Unforgettable Week in Houston
The 2025 FIRST Championship, held April 16–19 in Houston, Texas, brought together the brightest young minds in robotics from across the globe—and REV Robotics was honored to be a part of this celebration of innovation, collaboration, and competition. At REV we’re proud of the incredible efforts of all the FRC and FTC teams we have the honor of supporting.
Our booths at the George R. Brown Convention Center were buzzing with energy as we showcased our latest technologies, engaged with students and mentors, and showed our appreciation to the dedicated teams that power the spirit of FIRST. Join us in recapping how we contributed to the excitement, celebration, and lent a helping hand during this year’s Championship.
REV Robotics DUO Booth
At our DUO booth, teams had the opportunity to explore REV’s cornerstone products designed for FTC teams. We offered hands-on demonstrations of our new Servo Hub, MAX Composite, and the upcoming all steel gears with 3 speed options for our Smart Robot Servos line—accessible solutions that have help teams engineer smarter and more reliable robots.
Team members, mentors, and educators visited to ask questions, get real-time support, and of course collect our exclusive stickers, ribbons, and keychains. We also discussed our ever expanding and improved Professional Development Program and Intro to Robotics I Curriculum. Our engineers and support staff were thrilled to offer insight and support.
REV Robotics ION Booth
Across the convention center, our ION booth attracted crowds with our high-performance FRC components, including our new 1:1 brake cartridge for the MAXPlanetary System and new structural upgrades. Attendees also had the chance to interact with REV’s FRC Starter Bot and an early prototype of EasySwerve, a product that aims to be the most affordable and accessible swerve system. EasySwerve gives all teams the ability to implement one of the most competitive drive systems into their robot. It's been a pretty exciting period of development for us!
From FRC rookies to seasoned veterans, visitors found value in the resources and expert insights our team provided. They also enjoyed collecting REV exclusive stickers, ribbons, and keychains. The ION booth was not only a showcase of technology—it was a hub for gathering, collaboration, technical discussion, and connection.
Scavenger Hunt and T-REV Giveaways
To keep the energy high and bring a fun twist to the event, we hosted an interactive scavenger hunt that had teams exploring the pits and working with other teams to find REV parts in the wild. We posted an ION and DUO part three times a day to have participants come to their respective booths to be the first for that round to claim the prize. With the unveiling of our long teased T-REV Dino Plushie as the prize, this activity encouraged collaboration across teams and an understanding of robotics to find the part.
We also spent time visiting pits to meet teams, learn about their robots, strategies, and all around get to know the community at this year’s FIRST Championship. A few T-REVs were gifted to some exceptional teams and highly-creative pits.
All around, engagement and excitement were at an all-time high, and we loved seeing so many smiles from teams!
Team REV Appreciation
We never miss the chance to celebrate the amazing teams who represent REV Robotics on the field and in the community. At FIRST Championship 2025, we celebrated our sponsored teams—Team REV—with exclusive gift bags packed with REV swag and surprises, and a special appreciation breakfast.
Call it a grand tour of the pits, but our team visited each of our attending teams to drop off a gift bag, have a chat about their strategies and season, and to snap a quick team picture. This was a core memory for us at REV, being able to meet and greet our teams we’ve been rooting for all season and now at Champs.
For our #TeamREV appreciation breakfast we served tacos and plenty of snacks Friday morning to teams and got together for a group photo that included hundreds of hungry competitors. Hopefully, we fueled them to finish the week strong.
These were heartfelt moments to connect with the teams we support and thank them for their passion, dedication, and embodiment of the values that make our robotics community so special.
Competition Highlights
The weekend was filled with incredible displays of engineering talent and gracious professionalism. From awe-inspiring autonomous runs to thrilling alliance match-ups, the level of competition on both the FRC and FTC fields was second to none.
We were especially proud to see so many of our Team REV teams compete, with some teams going the distance to playoffs! Watching our community in action and seeing empowered students thinking critically, solving problems, and competing at the highest level—reminds us why we do what we do. BIG congratulations to all the teams who competed this year, Champs 2025 was one for the books!
Until Next Year!
To everyone who stopped by our booths, participated in the scavenger hunt, or competed with a robot powered by a REV component—we thank you! Your ingenuity, determination, and collaborative spirit are what drive the future of robotics forward.
