Mechanical Engineering Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

A person in this position will be a key member of the REV management team, and is tasked with providing direction to future products along with leading the execution of company goals.  This role is a split of both management of mechanical engineering department and being a contributing mechanical engineer. 

This person will lead a team of Mechanical Engineers and designers to develop new products from conception to production, provide design related support to existing product changes, and provide support for manufacturing, quality control, and sourcing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Solve problems as related to product development and design
  • Manages mechanical engineering group including prioritization, scheduling, and deliverables
  • Hire and oversee mechanical engineering staff as needed to achieve company objectives (Full Time, Contractors, & Co-ops/interns)
  • Reviews all drawings and products before products are sent for manufacturing
  • Executes mechanical engineering analysis while developing new products
  • Ensures that company standards for design, testing, data management, and quality control are followed with the ME team
  • Acts as a cross-department liaison for shared resources and multi-disciplinary projects
  • Oversees REV prototyping equipment to ensure proper training and maintenance are maintained
  • Communicates with domestic and overseas vendors to ensure product specifications are clear
  • Represents REV at various events
  • Other responsibilities as needed to ensure that the goals of REV are met

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have an engineering degree focusing on mechanical design (ME or MET preferred)
  • Must have CAD design experience in SolidWorks
  • Must be extremely organized and able to manage multiple tasks and people simultaneously
  • Must be a excellent communicator
  • Must have the ability to follow directions, work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Work with a flexible schedule and demonstrate effective time management
  • Experience with injection molding design preferred
  • Machine shop experience preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing in Asia desirable
  • Customer Service and documentation experience is desirable
  • Experience working on or with a FIRST robotics or FIRST Tech Challenge team is preferred. 

COMPENSATION:

$75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. potentially higher for exceptional candidates. Yearly Bonus and salary reviews.  Regular, full-time position including benefits (health insurance, 401k matching, Paid time off, etc).

WORK SCHEDULE:

Generally, 40 hours per week.
