Manufacturing Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

An engineer in this position will work as part of our product development team with a specific focus on the transition from Research & Development to manufacturing. Working with REV’s vendors both abroad and domestically this person will ensure that products are made using the most efficient processes while meeting schedules, costs and quality standards.  This position will require a good understanding of many different manufacturing processes, including but not limited to, CNC Machining, Injection molding, Metal stamping, Aluminum Extrusion, and Die Casting.   

REV is committed to providing quality, low-cost educational robotics parts for STEM Education, and the Mechanical Engineer should utilize their skills as necessary in order to support that mission.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and solve problems as related to manufacturing of a variety of different types of products
  • Work closely with the design engineers to ensure products are designed with manufacturing in mind. 
  • Review tolerances and drawings before they are released to production to ensure consistency
  • Work closely with existing REV manufacturing partners (mainly in Asia) to ensure products meet expectations
  • Manage engineering change requests to and from our manufacturing partners for constant improvement.
  • Generate quality control procedures for inspections at our partners and in our warehouses
  • Help to find and qualify new vendors for REV products.
  • Travel to vendors in China (and other places) to support manufacturing efforts at key times. Travel is paused during Covid pandemic, normally travel is ~4 weeks each year.
  • Other responsibilities as needed to ensure that the goals of REV are met

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have an engineering degree focusing on mechanical or manufacturing
  • Must have CAD design experience in Solidworks
  • Experience with numerous manufacturing processes
  • Must have the ability to follow directions, work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Work with a flexible schedule and demonstrate effective time management
  • Machine shop experience preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing in Asia preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Experience working on or with a FIRST robotics team is preferred. 

COMPENSATION:

$60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience. potentially higher for exceptional candidates. Regular, full-time position including benefits (health insurance, 401k matching, PTO, etc).

WORK SCHEDULE:

Generally, 40 hours per week.
