Job Summary:

REV Robotics is seeking a creative detail-focused Applications Engineer to help manage deep technical support tasks, help support the creation of technical collateral, and build and showcase application examples using REV products.

This position will be the primary owner for technical collateral generation, including blog posts, hardware, software, and electrical examples, videos, and more. A person in this position will develop a full understanding of the challenges our customers face and how they can be solved using REV parts. This will involve skills to work cross-discipline and be able to quickly pick up and communicate technical information.

In addition, this role will be the go-to person for technical support, working directly with our team of Customer Support Specialists. It is expected that the applications engineer is able to answer most technical support questions beyond common front line support. A candidate who is successful in this role is able to identify common issues, determine when new resources should be created, and work with the engineering teams to create it.

This position is expected to be familiar with most technical aspects of REV and how they interact, to help ensure efficient business operations.The ideal candidate must be able to handle a variety of tasks while sorting through potentially conflicting priorities. REV is committed to providing quality, low-cost educational robotics parts for STEM Education, and the Applications Engineer should utilize their skills as necessary in order to support that mission.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide deep technical support for REV products, and work with the product development teams to help resolve issues
  • Acts with limited guidance to find solutions to various technical challenges
  • Give feedback to REV product engineers based on customer interaction
  • Generate support documentation, blog posts, application examples, videos, and other collateral for existing and new products
  • As requested, help to generate reports and data that can be used to evaluate the overall performance of REV and plan for the future
  • May represents REV at FIRST and other off-season events
  • Other responsibilities as needed to ensure that the goals of REV are met

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar position
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field required
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Self-motivated work style with the ability to manage time in order to work on several smaller projects concurrently
  • Excellent communication and people skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively both orally and in writing
  • Experience with general business software such as Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and other web-based applications
  • Interest in becoming an expert in all REV products
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems on the fly
  • Action oriented, self-motivated, good listener, adaptable to change
  • Enjoy being part of a team, customer focused
  • Experience with FIRST (or other competitive robotics program) as a mentor, volunteer, or participant is preferred
  • Skills in one of the following is a plus: Mechanical CAD tools (Solidworks, Onshape, Inventor, etc.), Electrical CAD tools (Altium, PADS, OrCad, etc.), Programming languages (Python, C, LabVIEW etc.)

Compensation:

$50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. Regular, full-time position including benefits (health insurance, 401k, etc).

Work Schedule:

Generally, 40 hours per week.
